I lived for a while as a kid in Houma Lousiana, where there was one of the blimp airfields. Growing up we raced remote control cars on the big circular pads and I believe the humongous doors to the old hangar were still there. The airbase's bunkers were rumored to have held arms for France's fight in either Algeria or Vietnam, by inscrupulous arms dealers, and it was definitely a landing point for drug runners for a while. There were also rumors that there were nuclear weapons stored there during the cold war, but I have no proof of any of this. For all I know it's all bunk but the big landing pads and the doorways...
