This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Well it was 37 years ago but I remember it as being surprisingly spacious inside. True, I was the only passenger but you could kneel on that rear facing dual seat and chat with the pilot and the perspex windows were fine for A-A photography. We had a further Wildcat on one side and a Hellcat on the other.

Great shots Peter!
That was shortly before it took it's "Submarine Course" in Lake Erie and before Dick Foote purchased it.

Wow, nice shots!
Makes me think of the commuter line that never was "Wildcat Air". Can you imagine if there had been a fleet of these Wildcats shuttling folks around? Boggles the mind...

is this the Wildcat that had the Airliner type door in it's side? (i got a pic somewhere,i think.)

You put sideways seats in there and with the size of your average South American, you could do it.

Well, it doesn't say it could seat seven COMFORTABLY......

Reminiscent of the Lockheed Vega, where the pilot sat up high in front, and it was pretty cozy in the passenger compartment.

So it looks like the FM-2 is off the website at Courtesy. Anyone know what's going on? Did it get sold or not?

For years I've struggled to understand how they fit that passenger compartment in there, but the pictures from a sales listing of N29FG mentioned in a
recent thread make it clear how much empty space there really is in a Wildcat fuselage:
