Very good stuff guys. I hoped to start something like this.

There are a couple static Blue Angels Bearcat pics in my initial post here, and I have some more but nothing out on the ramp or flying as I was only there Friday and it was a DNQ by then. :( But it was a highlight to see it.

Plus, the last one I took at Reno - I knew that I flinched and it was fuzzy, but I planned to do better on lap 4

As menioned above, one of the real pleasueres of the Reno Races has always been the variety of types involved. The sounds when you mix Merlins, Allisons, Griffons and various roundies all at very high power settings has to be heard to be believed!

They wanted to and were ready to race, but couldn't get on the dance card....

I still haven't seen the pics in the initial post. :(

Is there more than one Blue Angels Bearcat, or am I reading wrong?

Is that the same Precious Metal from back when? It looks much shorter than other Mustangs Unlimiteds, or is it just me?

What's the story on that bone stock looking white P-51 with the black cheat line and anti glare panel, N51T? Looks like a real beauty.

Chappie - No, i think the original Precious Metal was written off. This one is a bit funny looking but has that great Griffon freight-train sound.

Pinecastle - N51T is not a participant in the races but a locally based plane that I understand is one of the last un-re-militarized Cavaliers. It is not seen much and was parked away from the rest of the action but I had seen a few pics of it posted on aafo earlier in the week and was determined to seek it out. A real beauty and a memory trip for those of us who recall when a lot of Mustangs looked like that.
