Second. Lo2P of course your opinon is worth something and dont hesitate to speak up. I understand that of which you scribe. when 44-30077 B-25J N2849G aka NL2849G when she was at the Gwinnett County Airport Winder, Ga., in the early 80's taxied out and the crew discovered that the warning they had received that the brakes would fail, actually did and the aircraft sustained damage that would require significant work to the center section. That didn't make CNN headline News, and that news station was only 30-40 or so miles away as the crow flies :axe:
Airframe last known to be under the "umbrella of protection" (figure of speech ya'll - its probably outside in parts collecting what-ever falls from the sky or get blown in through the wire) of Aero Trader. :Hangman:

Years ago, I had friends who are friendly with local FAA staff, get incidents downplayed. And I know of an off airport landing that never made it into the daily FAA summary. Likewise, I've heard of friendly FAA folks classifying an aircraft as damaged rather than destroyed so it can be legally rebuilt. Sometimes, it really is who you know. Not that I'm complaining.... :D

You mean kind of like when one of the CAF HA-1112's was literally flown into the grass on a high-speed low pass right in front of the crowd at Airsho 76? That's not anywhere in the NTSB database...but it sure as hell happened...and the airframe was rendered unflyable for a couple decades as a result.

Wow! That SUCKS! about the B-25, I was in my back yard last week in San Antonio, and I heard/saw that B-25 heading S/W so I guessed it was headed to the Lewis Ranch. I hope it gets fix! I'll keep it at that, because I do'nt want to get in any cow chips out there! ya'll have a good day now!

A secret meeting is planned for late March at a undisclosed location in South Texas and all of the warbird owners come together to plan the creation of the NRT Air Force. It is announced that all the warbirds are to become fully operational with all weapons systems fully functional. Meanwhile, the Governors wife (played by Angelina Jolie), who is an accomplished pilot herself, is in attendance at the meeting and while taxiing out for a practice sortie in one of the NRT bombers, is attacked by a group of black ops unit members from the Old United States thereby rendering one of the NRT bombers in-effective.

I will leave the rest of the grand movie to your imaginations.

The CAF 1112 wasn't "flown into the grass in front of the crowd" at Airsho '76. The grass was on the back stretch as I recall.

Lol....well, isn't that the same thing? All the grass in and around Harlingen is on the airport proper, still out in front of the crowd. Point being that Whittington walked away from it and it's not a reported accident in the data bases.

One of those Good Old Boy handshake deals....or a Jedi mind trick. "You didn't see anything....."

And as I remember, the end result was that Levitz got to 'sponsor' the rebuild.

When reporters asked the First Governor Lady for a comment all she could say was "Anita new B-25 I guess".

I probably should've mentioned the obvious as well. Newsworthy and public demand can also get their attention. Technically, any incident can get their attention...but with that comes paperwork. :wink:

And not one photograph of this B-25 with a broken nose gear?? if it isn't on video, or on a still Photograph, like the government says, it didn't happen.
