Well, 9 days until the aircraft start arriving for the re-birth of The Hamilton Airshow!
Not since 2001 has there been an airshow in Hamilton Ontario, and CWH has resurrected the Warbird show.
As a volunteer at the museum I have noticed great interest and response to the show coming back, and for the first time back in 10 years it looks incredible!
The participants that have confirmed are on the following website and are subject to change due to weather, serviceability and operational committments.
http://airshow.warplane.com/ Some originally booked aircraft have unfortunately canceled due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (Focke Wulf 190) but have been replaced by other historical aircraft.
44 warbirds are currently slated to fly, with an additional 26 static aircraft from the museum and other organizations.
The Canadian Armed Forces have 4 Static aircraft including a CF-188 (CF-18) Hornet, CC-130 Hercules, CH-146 Griffon Helicopter and a CH-124 Sea King Helicopter.
It promises to be a great comeback and a stepping stone for an even bigger and better show in 2012 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
And for those interested in the 2 current restorations going on at the museum, the Grumman Avenger and the Bristol Bolingbroke will both be on their wheels and rolled outside for everyone to see and speak with the crews that are restoring them.
Hope to see you there!
