Well, 9 days until the aircraft start arriving for the re-birth of The Hamilton Airshow!

Not since 2001 has there been an airshow in Hamilton Ontario, and CWH has resurrected the Warbird show.
As a volunteer at the museum I have noticed great interest and response to the show coming back, and for the first time back in 10 years it looks incredible!
The participants that have confirmed are on the following website and are subject to change due to weather, serviceability and operational committments.
http://airshow.warplane.com/
Some originally booked aircraft have unfortunately canceled due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (Focke Wulf 190) but have been replaced by other historical aircraft.
44 warbirds are currently slated to fly, with an additional 26 static aircraft from the museum and other organizations.
The Canadian Armed Forces have 4 Static aircraft including a CF-188 (CF-18) Hornet, CC-130 Hercules, CH-146 Griffon Helicopter and a CH-124 Sea King Helicopter.
It promises to be a great comeback and a stepping stone for an even bigger and better show in 2012 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

And for those interested in the 2 current restorations going on at the museum, the Grumman Avenger and the Bristol Bolingbroke will both be on their wheels and rolled outside for everyone to see and speak with the crews that are restoring them.

Hope to see you there!

"Let's hear it for our Northern Brothers" I get a large charge out of the Canadian folks on this thread who are just as heavy into this stuff as most of us guys are. The opportunities that they have sometimes exceed some of the opportunities that we bump in too, but those that they do sometimes exceed the situations that we even consider. I only wish I could get loose and come up there and join you guys! Have a great show and send us pictures! Thanks Canucks!

The return of the Hamilton (warbird) Airshow is fantastic news. The first airshow I ever attended was in 1974 as a 14 year old at Hamilton and I never missed a single one while it was being run by the CWH. I was a member in the lates 80s and will be re-establishing my membership when I attend this show. I love the direction the CWH is taking and now that I am retired I want to get more involved.

Can't wait, great looking line-up and 2012 looks amazing.

Cheers,

Jeff :spit

Well Dave, it still promises to be a fantastic show.
We have had our first arrival for the Airshow. Vintage Wings of Canada arrived Friday afternoon with their Curtis P-40 Warhawk.
Beautiful plane is tucked away in the hangar at CWH!
As of now, what is on the list is still scheduled, we can hope for good weather, no mechanical issues and we'll have lots to see!

I see that the webite still lists the VWoC Mustang as participating.
I thought it was out west for the summer?

Plan is for the Mustang to head west after the CWH show.

Saw you coming in Friday Dave while servicing a planes O2 on our ramp. The Allison has a much quieter sound than the Merlin IMHO. Saw you before i heard you!

Hi Mike,

I might get there tomorrow to make some noise. If a couple of things come together I'll fly down in the Fairchild, do an aero practice away from the field, then fly home.

Cheers,

Dave

Call me if you need some ballast, I'm only at the other end of the field! :D
