Dreaming of a White Christmas? Well, guess what? We're having one in Dallas!
When I checked just before supper, it was 25 Deg F with a howling northwest wind. Brrrr. . .
Merry Christmas to our Christian members, and Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish members! God bless us all, and may the season bring all the warmth, joy, and love that we hope for!

Christmas is awesome. I like it because I get a chance to sit back and reflect on the stuff we don't all year. I realized that the people here have become a second family. I have thought about some of the great friends I have from here, the places I have been too because of here, and the things I have done because of WIX. We watched "It's a Wonderful Life" tonight and the end always gets me. "No man who has friends is ever a failure." I went through a rough time a few years ago, and you guys all were there for me in one way or another. Some without knowing. Just being able to escape the nasty divorce for minutes here or there in the WIX world was a nice break. Then I started meeting up with WIX members at airshows and museums, and made several life long friends. Then the ATC job became open that I got know, and that is due to a WIX member tipping me off. I got engaged, and couldn't wait to tell you guys. I see a warbird, and can't wait to post pics. You guys are great friends. Sure we argue a point once in a while, but that is just like any other family. When everything happened to Gary, I found myself in a hotel room in tears. I felt silly because I had met him just twice, and talked to him a bit. And here I am upset like he was one of my best friends. Then I came on here, and found I was not alone again. And now in many ways we are healing from that. Not sure we will ever be totally over that though.
In closing because I am sounding like a girl, I just wanted to say that I am thankful for all of the great friendships I have made here. Some of you I have met, some of you I have not. Some of you have gotten me in to see aircraft on display not open to the public, and some of you I have just traded P.M.'s with. Some of you have shipped a Spitfire main wheel to my front porch, and some of you have helped me out with my new M-1. Some of you guys have traded e-mails with, and some of you have ran over parking cones with me while 7 of us were shoved into a car. All of you guys are great. Merry Christmas.
