But both units operated the Falcon's after the Phantoms, so the F-4 couldn't have been the last...see?

LOL... yes, if you didn't read the statement that the Collings' F-4 is the last one flying, not the last one they flew... :)

Fuel burn at max weight and power is around 96,000 pph. For those that are mathamatically disinclined, that's about 235 gallons a minuet. Full payload and three bags, bingo is somewhere around 10 minuets after brake release according to a friend that flew them in the LA Guard...

That was the best news to come out of EFD all year!

Rick
Hats off to all of you that made Thursday a success. I am really bummed that I could not be there for the Phlight. Leaving Houston and moving to the NCR before she got airborne was tough. Many hours were spent on her and now I see it that the hard work has "phinnaly" paid off. Congrats to all of you.

I want to thank the following folks who have donated their time, skills and knuckles to making the Phantom take to the skies again. It was not an easy task and I take immese pride having worked with you guys on getting her airborne:

Al Arrowood, Bob Shuler, Chris Jones, Raymond Beausejour, Tom Blackshear, Will Bowers, Bill Bowers, Mark Vaile, Mike Robinson, Rick Harris, Bill Bourland, Ken Hayes, Charlie Arndt, Christopher George, Chris Mitchell, Mike Lind, Jeff Lipschuetz, Ryan Harris & JP Spivey.

If I have left anyone off, please do not be insulted, I'm getting older and remembering names is a bit harder these days. You folks did a great job and I tip my hat to you.

PS
Rick-- Don't forget the RC-26's at Ellington. Granted they are not the Fighter Squadrons but they are assigned to the 147th.

Great Job Rick,
I'm glad to see we're not the only ones leaving a Smokey trail behind us. Looking forward to Thunder!
