This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Sorry about that....

Well, "voice of empire" just sounded better than "voice of the former penal colony" so I meant no disrespect there JDK. Still, there is your money down under. Who's that lady on the fiver, your grandma? The Sun Never Sets On The British Empire!

Everyone knows that the real reason the CAF changed their name is that they realized how silly they looked climbing out of a WWII airplane in a gray flighsuit with a civil war Confederate cap on. :hide:

Ok, I just have to chime in with one more word - and this is coming from a Texan with deep Southern roots. If you are true "Southerners", then show yourselves to be gentlemen and don't call our moderators names or insinuate that their enforcement of the rules YOU agreed to when you signed up for this forum is somehow censorship or unfair. If you must keep on calling them names, then I'm calling you out as carpetbaggers... If you're Yankees, I guess I don't expect any better. Ok, just kidding.
Oh, and I have ancestors that: helped saved the day at Sharpsburg, charged with Pickett at Gettysburg, was a Baptist chaplain at Shiloh, had 3 sons that fought with him, etc... if you want to question where I have any place to talk.

Remember, we're here to talk warbirds!

My views on sovereignty, Queen Elizabeth II or Empires, current or former are equally inappropriate for the forum. For accuracy, Australia isn't part of an Empire, either factual or by type. It's a sovereign nation, and part of the Commonwealth. Having knocked around the world wore than most, I'm not so narrow as to see my loyalty to any one country, but I prefer to think, and act, globally.

As for my grandmother, she worked for the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation in W.W.II and I have a lot more respect for her at 95 and some weeks than the Queen.

Yes, I'm suffering a big sense of humour failure, I'd rather talk warbirds.

Fine. You're no fun anymore. I knew this moderator job on WIX was going to kill your sense of humour.

P.T. Barnum said that?

Dean the skeptical

Warren Zevon said that on Letterman.

PT Barnum is alleged to have said something about how often suckers are born...

Now you made me laugh. ;)

I'm now going to enjoy my Easter Weekend. You could help, if you want, by picking up on the Shavrov question. I'd appreciate it.

PS: Don't let anyone cut your strings!
