Beauty! There was a T-6 for sale last year from Florida, I think. Checker nose, beautiful olive gloss paint, tons of pictures on the "for sale" site. Anyone know what happened to her or who was the lucky buyer? I saved the site to my favorites but it show no longer active.

Thanks,

Here's the photo I promised. It comes from a folder that used to belong to a Eugene Card Jr. The folder contains a bunch of flight records and related documents and the two photos posted below. I think he spent most of the war in Florida and Texas.

Don't know the colors for sure.

Fields he was at included Hendricks Field in Florida, Bryan Field in TX and Aloe Field in TX. Maybe some others as well but I'd have to look again.

Well this looks like it would be a darn interesting time trying to land from the back. What's the story with the canopy?

Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:32 pm

SNJ-4 and -5's had gunnery training from the back seat, rear canopy slides forward to the center section, and the rear seat turns backwards. Looks like the SBD Dauntless with the gunner in the rear.

My friend went through USAF Pilot Training in 1956. Anyone (Jack) have some accurate period photos of USAF T-6s from those days?

Anyone have pics of Israeli T-6s when they were used as ground attack planes? They were in standard IAF camouflage of sand/brown/green.
