Thanks for the offer of a WIX bumper sticker, but I already have one.

I nominate SPANNERmkV. There are many reasons, if I need to give I will.

Yeah...yeah...I know...some of you will rejoice in that.

Mudge the angst ridden :(

ps...and I'm well over 70, thank you.

I like the extra "awards" too. If there was a BEST SIGNATURE award Mudge would win it hands down!

I vote for a tie, Jack Cook and Armyjunk (at least). Call me a revisionist, but the pictures of the REAL thing, in a REAL place, at the REAL time, beat the heck out of the best restoration or museum piece any day.

Oh, dear, is this Mudge the politically correct? We can't have competition in case someone doesn't win and have their feelings hurt?

C'mon Mudge, most regular posters have had worse than not winning come at them, and they're still here.

FWIW, I think it's a bit of fun and the right guys, note, not one but two, guys won the first time. On the other hand, there are many posters here whose contributions add to the sum of the whole - and to try and 'rank' them would be invidious. But the prizes aren't the point, they're just a gold star recognition.

And if you don't win, Mudge, we can get you back with a few well placed P-38 shots, I'm sure... ;)

Just my thoughts.

Hmm. Except this isn't a website for people to research W.W.II data, but a website about warbirds - so today's efforts are no less relevant than the historical stuff.

Brilliant!

I wonder if it wouldn't be more appropriate to have categories other than individuals. I mean, for real, Jack ALWAYS is posting interesting photos and it would be boring to elect him over and over for that (significant) contribution.
Maybe it could be broken down into something like: most useful thread, most entertaining thread, favorite picture posted of the year (that doesn't include a provocative figure :P Take that you nose art and model (not scale) junkies! :enforcer::wink: - I saw that other comment earlier today)... or whatever instead of best poster.

On the other hand, I think that it should ALL be done in the Off-Topic discussion area, so as to not clog up other regular discussions.

Jack could get the equivalent to a lifetime achievement award.
