I really liked the P-47 picture. And the back cover was outstanding!
Good job as well!

Has the Malcolm hood equipped "Old Crow" shown up yet?

And another similarly equipped Mustang just might be enroute tomorrow

Nice Photos, Spooky. Who belongs to the Hunter??!

Sun Jul 27, 2008 10:00 am

Gorgeous shots! Pls keep 'em coming.

I read earlier in this thread that B&H photo has the "6-months same as cash" deal going. Hmm, OOPS! Just dropped my dinosaur EOS 20D!

Nah, love my 20D - a great camera, and it's in great shape still after 9,000 or so images so far. 'course, soon after I got my "cutting edge" 20D, Canon comes out with the 5D, IIRC, which point-by-point blows my 20D away, and it was about the same price!

Yes, the skill of the photographer (as shown in these WIX threads) can overcome almost any equipment limitation, but it sure would be nice to have a bit more horsepower in my hands as I seek to only "capture" things with minimum fuss.

Six months same as cash, you say ......

It's been mentioned before, but speaking of digital gear, your one-stop review/decision site is:

Over on airshowbuzz, there are some photos posted of John Session's P-51B, "Impatient Virgin", all completed, during a stop over at the La Crosse airport, and is likely now at Oshkosh. I won't be getting to the show until Thursday, so if anyone gets a chance to, I would love to see many more photos of this amazing restoration, as the week progresses.

If she's on the ground I'll be all over her Monday, John. It might be pretty late when I get pics posted (I'll be watching my daughter play summer hoops down in Fond du Lac that evening), but your patience will be rewarded.

And the rest of you: I don't own any bazooka lenses, but if you have any static pic requests I'll be at OSH every day this week except Wed.

I'm covered in sunscreen and bug spray and really need to jump in the shower. The warbird field is filling up pretty quick. Here are some notable newcomers.

P-38 "Ruff Stuff", Ol 927, Thunderbird & the Doolittle B-25, Helldiver, Avenger "Ida Red", a second Corsair, Wildcat, Albatross, tons more CJ's and Yak's, P-51B "Impatient Virgin" which unfortunately had the canopy cover on by the time I saw it. I hear "Old Crow" will be arriving tomorrow. A second P-40 is there, Maybe 8-10 Mustangs now. Hmm...what else? Well, let me shower and see if I can get some new pics up.

P.S. Thanks for the comments on the pictures. I'll try to bring you new ones as often as I can. I really only get a chance after I get home from my night security job and will sometimes work on them 'til 3:00 in the morning only to get up early and go out and shoot more the next day. It makes for an exhausting week. I guess what i'm saying is don't take it personal if I don't respond to your comments. I'll try and answer questions the best I can but just due to time and needing to sleep a bit I try to concentrate more on getting pictures up for y'all. I thank you all in advance and I do appreciate them.

Thanks and hope to see some of you on Thursday.

Not yet. I've never been terribly excited about taking shots with canopy covers on. I'll try and make a point of it though. As for the T-28, it's not PS but one of the features on my camera where I can sample a color which will be the only one to stand out. It's kinda neat and was an experiment gone well. :)
