Well OK, I'll ring in here one more time I guess. My only personal problem with Jack's single photo posts are these:

I can't play here all day, everyday. I have a business to run .. ... and this causes me to miss many of Jack's posts because they pass too quickly and, like I said, I'm lazy and if I start backing up pages, I start to see so many other interesting posts that I missed, and here lies another problem for me. I start to open other interesting posts and then I back up again and again and .... see where I'm going? I simply cannot read every post. That's why .... for me only .... I really like to see an interesting post stay on the main page a little longer.

Now, that said, I'll just add my very small suggestion and then shut my mouth. If we were to lose Jack's contributions to WIX because he feels strongly about his convictions. Then Jack's the boss here. He's simply far too valuable a member and contributor to lose to any of us telling him what to do. If I could be so kind as to suggest an idea or possible solution, may I just state maybe Jack could add two, three or ten relavent photos to the same post. I completely understand Jack's views on making his posts relavent in content. I do undestand that. He makes a great point by stating that Reno photos and ETO photos and B-29 photos simply need to be separated. .... So the above suggestion is only my own simple minded contribution to what maybe isn't even a problem after all. I believe this conversation all really started over a member having a difficult time organizing his posts in a more common sensical approach.

My last words ..... Jack whatever you feel works for you, you can rest assure works for me, and I'm sure most likely works for others as well. I really don't think you realize just how valuable and important your posts are to WIX.

I just wish you would start a "Sticky" ... with nothing but Navy Hellcats .... cripes!!!! ... what do I have to do to get more Hellcats around here? ...

Not picking on anyone in particular but the "threads that I am interested in fall off the 1st page too quickly" is bullsh*t. If you possess the motor skills to get yourself to the 1st page, you possess the motor skills to get yourself to page TWO. Guess what... there is LIFE after the main page!

pictures are the backbone of this forum, who cares who there from?? they all contribute to the depth of aviation / warbird aviation. all of you frequent pic posters (fpp) (i've coined a new abbreviation!!) :partyman: post your asses off!! on the grand scale.... beyond wix, many picture & video servers are inundated with countless videos, from a to z topics. they can not handle the flow coming on the internet daily via cell phone, or with professional gear.

Not a problem Django, I guess if we can't have fun with each other every now and then, what fun would all this boring "warbird" stuff be for? ... I'm just too hooked on this site and to start going back pages is "brain overload" for me. You guy's are just too good at this. There's just too much to read. ....

On the HAMB (hot rod site) there is a feature for subscribing to threads. Basically if you post in a thread, you get a window where you can see all the threads that have recently been posted in that you have posted in as well. It's a really great feature. We have a similar feature on our club board. It puts all the threads from the different areas into one place so you can read them all.

Jack,
I think this is the thread to take the time and thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with the photos. I know for certain that my knowledge has evolved by looking at some of your posts. I like them sprinkled in amongst the other posts. I was personally irritated by the continual posts of what amounted to not much information from HGUCSU. You, in contrast, have provided some good grounded information and spurred some debate as well as some additional information from other posters, which is the very definition of a good, thoughtful post. Now quit your crying and find me some L-5 pictures in Europe...

Jack, I think you should stop posting and let me regain the title of "person with the mostest of too much free time on my hands as shown by my postus maximus count..."

Of course if Scott hadn't banned all those other guys that were prolific posters we probably wouldn't have been in the top 10.

But are they really in it for the long haul? Maybe Scott should add our post count from the old board and the rufugees board before that as well...

BY the way, who is still here from the refugees board days that still posts? DaveM2? Who else? I'm getting nostalgic all of a sudden!

Ya know Jack (I feel kinda weird calling you that...like calling Mr Greenwood Bill!)...when I found this site, I thought what a great place for novices like me to learn. Over the past year or so that I have been here, I can't think of one topic/picture or post that you were nothing but the consumate professional. Like so many others here, I wish I had enough time to come in every day, all of the new posts and pix...but alas, my job calls  Most of the time I get to enjoy this site is on the weekend. Like a little kid, I sit down and enjoy opening all of the new pages of info to be garnered and sometimes even post some type of input.

Again, take it for what it is worth coming from a dummie like me, I enjoy the Hellen outta your pix and think the recent war between you and Martin is just about the coolest thing I have seen on here in a long time!

So ya know, if you do pack up and leave this site, I want to be in on the fundraising for the Boyington memorial in the yard across from your house!!! :butthead:

Or better yet, the original predecessor to all of this - the old Warbirds Worldwide forum! Does anybody remember that?
