Do we really know that to be true? Did EVERY airframe make it to AMARC? I was under the impression that there were some at Oceana that did not make it to AMARC.


All the 'A's were quickly cut up. The last of the D models to fly in are in still in storage.

And to think that at least 2 museums in the UK (Duxford and Newark) turned down the offer of a donated F-14 recently. :(

I don't know if the navy has any stored at Oceana any more or not. All I can say is that everything that came to Tucson has been or is actively being cut up. All the planes that were put in reserve storage here when the Tomcats retired are definately gone. The ones that are still being cut up looked like they had been here for a long time and were all buried deep in the reclamation storage area.
