It,s oh so quiet...

Sun Jan 27, 2008 4:13 pm

Never heard of a Vulcan being referred to as being "Totally silent" and "hovering" as many of the reports state,as are F16,s in formation or B2 Bombers or F117,s.
Hey Bill with real I meant they are real like in little grey men driving them or short haired Air Force Officers flying them.Aliens or home grown if you will.I just dig the technology. If an alien/USAF pilot with a UFO landed in my back yard the first question I,d ask is "Dude pop the hood and lets look at what your running."
Oh the Spit..The thing thats driving me insane after 3 years of work. All new build fuse, wings and tail containing the surviving remnants of parts of the scrapping of 232 Spitfires out at 6AD Oakey 1948-1950.To be built as per the original drawings best we can to groundrun stage.Sucky part is only being able to work on it once a week due to work plus the workshop being half an hour out of town.Using the latest 3D design programs to design parts or copying original parts as patterns.Lots of fun non the less.

TV

Last night I turned on TV, think it was 60 Minutes, with Larry King and they had a big segment on UFOs including this one at Stephenville. That sighting was Jan. 8, I believe at night. They also had some ex military people who said they had seen other UFOs. I didn't catch much about those events.
I looked on a Dallas Ft. Worth sectional and there is no restricted airspace at Stephenville, the Brownwood MOA does not extend that far. Witnesses described whatever they saw as low over the town, before speeding away. If F-16 s were doing practice, especially 10 of them, it seems logical that they would do it in a restricted area. There are a lot of helicopters to the east, either with Pres Bush at Crawford/Waco or at Ft. Hood,.

Here is the original news bulletin posted on Yahoo.

Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said
no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area
the night of Jan. 8, when most people reported the sighting.

Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. Lights from the aircraft
would seem unusually bright and may appear orange
from the setting sun.

"I'm 90 percent sure this was an airliner," Lewis said. "With the sun's angle, it can play tricks on you."

Officials at the region's two Air Force bases — Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in
Wichita Falls — also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week. The Air Force no longer investigates UFOs.

but like Randy said, no one PR person at the Air Force can know of all operations.

sure

Blue, thanks for the news account of that report. It is interesting to read Maj. Karl Lewis say, "he was 90 % sure it was an airliner". Of course he was in Ft. Worth, not Stepehenville and never saw the object, so how worthile while is his opinion? I don't think this is on a normal airline route, and they certainly aren't going to be low at night. I have seen meteors or shooting stars that might look sort of like that, but not as detailed as people there describe this.

One last guess, it is football recruiting season. Jordan Shipley, the all time leading receiver in state high school is from there, now at U. of Texas. Maybe some coach in a helicopter is out searching for more talent.

Well, if it was a coach... then he was mighty lucky!

Sorrells said he has seen the object several times.
He said he watched it through his rifle's telescopic lens and described it as very large and without seams, nuts or bolts.

... through his rifle's telescopic lens?

That is a great statement... You just add the words to the ending of any sentence.
I saw you with my daughter... (Through my rifle's telescopic lens).
I saw you with my wife... (Through my rifle's telescopic lens)
I saw him breaking a homeowner regulation… (Through my rifle's telescopic lens)

If the aliens were not green, they must be now knowing they were seen
through his rifle's telescopic lens.

Must be the origin of "Don't Mess with Texas". I hope the aliens have diapers.

Randy Haskin wrote:Well, in the mid-90s, the USAF admitted that over the course of the last 40-ish years, they have essentially used UFO hysteria in the US to cover for sightings of classified aircraft in flight. Although the story specifically discussed U-2 and F-117 sightings by the general public, I'm sure it applies to many other airframes we don't know about.

Woot! That's what I've been saying all along and I never heard anyone else say that. My thoughts are that the government created the "UFO hysteria" in the first place as a way of covering up weapons and/or aircraft developement. Instead of explaining the classified system that was observed, they can just stirr the "UFO hysteria." Like in Texas, they could have intentially given conflicting reports just to point the "blame" away from aircraft. (Yes, I know it is out there, but ya never know)

Nothing political, but people who protest weapons and war seem to have more of a pull than people who want UFO data. Dealing with UFO people is probably a lot easier than deeling with anti-war/anti-weapons people.

I know this is a bit out there but it would probably work and probably does! :D
