The big, bad F-82G, Baby!

One sight of it overhead, and you just know it's up to no good.

That's a tough call Bill... I just love the P-51 in all its forms. To my uneducated eye, that would be exactly like asking me what is my preffered Spit model !

By the way, excuse my ignorance, but what does a Malcolm hood look like ?

Ah, I see now, thanks Shay.

I had never seen one like that before your post. I see very well the connection to the Spitfire now.

Which reminds me, on my last visit to the SAC Museum (pics to come on my web site soon) I bought two very nice DVDs giving the complete walk around, run-up, take-off and flight, plus landing & shutdown procedures of the B-25 and the P-51.

Lovely films, specially the flight sequences ! (I whish there was also one like that about the Spitfire. They did not have any at the shop). If anyone is interrested, I'll post the details about the videos later tonight when I am back home.

The Malcolm Hood looks like a Spitfire canopy, don't know if it really was or not. I have seen one up close and they are a work of art sort of like a Sptfire itself, curved and graceful.
I think I slightly prefer the flat canopy of the B/C though in combat the extra visibilty of the bubble would probably be welcome.
