It was an interesting research project, very interesting. Glad that Scott helped me get the photos up, I think they add to the subject aircraft. I have, somewhere around here the recordings on the interview with my uncle Gene before he died, man, did he have some stuff to say. I think he was clearing it all up, especially since he had went on a Run with his brother, and Flanigan.

I noted that one of your photos was credited to Jim Sprinkle.
I've been looking for a Jim Sprinkle (James F. Sprinkle) who
flew P-38s in WWII and F-84s in Korea. A fairly rare name.
Any clue has to the background of your photo guy???

Fantastic! I'm sure there are lots of survivors out there that could tell some stories as well.

Regarding Jim Sprinkle. I don't know his background. I was living in Germany at the time he sent me that photo. That was almost 20 years ago. I will look through my stuff and see if I still have an envelope that the slide came in. After living like a gypsy for over 20 years, I hope I can find it.

Holy smokes, it's like a miniseries in text! In the right hands, this could be one helluva dramatic movie.
Thank you for taking the time to post all of this... that's really tremendous research, and I'm sorry you've had your name added to the list of those burned by O'Leary. I've heard many, many stories about that guy now... what a shame, maybe someone should get a subpoena seeking the return of their stuff?
Anyways, thanks again...

Thanks.
I coordinated with a couple of people at Challenge, and talked to O'Leary as well to get assurances I would get my pictures back, so, I'll check out FlyPast and other UK pubs. I quit buying A/C decades ago.
I appreciate your taking the time to read the story and my comments which followed.
There are a lot of great folks in Aviation. There are also a lot of not so genuine folks in Aviation.
