As John Paul Jones once said, in the unexpurgated version, "Give me a fast ship, a star to sail her by, and a NAKED LADY on the bow..."

Naked, or nearly naked, ladies BELONG on WWII and pretty much any aircraft in the military. Twist this "Politically Correct BS" with a rotary fastener of common designation. I personally would like more laws encouraging female nudity in public. (With certain exceptions...)

As one of our great generals said, "A man who won't **** won't fight- and (I'm) a fighter!" And a man ashamed of looking at a naked woman painted on an aircraft is a cowardly prude, with a weak sense of his own sexuality.

Real Men smile and enjoy at naked women on aircraft; Gentlemen glance and grin at them. Cowards complain and feel insulted and scared by them. And any decent woman will roll her eyes and understand...

I, too, applaud Jack for writing to the editor with his stunningly witty witticism about naked ladies. My god, what balls Jack has! He actually wrote a letter to an editor!! There should be a memorial in the NMUSAF's monument garden to honor Jack's heroism.

Seriously, you guys act as if naked ladies painted on planes are the only ones you get to see. The real ones are better, trust me.

No, we shouldn't do that. That would just convince the activist that we are so ignorant of history that we believe that the Germans, Japanese or Russians ever had the slightest intention of invading the U.S., which of course, they did not.

Look everyone, I'm ignorant of history!

How about Japan's landing in Alaska? Before you correct me, yes I know Alaska wasn't a state until 1959.

No, I know you were just exaggerating, but for an activist on the other side, it would be an easy target.

The "offended" are the same ones who got their butts kicked on a daily basis in school because the dodge ball game wasn't fair...

Uncle Jack,

Remember when cities in the great old US of A wanted their names on the side of our fighting aircraft? What a Dilweed!

Tell him he has the choice, city name or two pickets to tittsburg! 8)

With all due respect, I strongly disagree and feel quite insulted. There is a strong Christian argument against being uncovered in public. However, I know I'm in the minority on this... so I'll stay out of the argument besides raising a flag against the inflammatory statements here.

Pretty sharp, but what's with that left leg and ankle? - a garter on one end and a goiter on the other...

Now everyone's postured, thumped their chests and farted in general directions, can we go back to grown-up discussions?

If you need to continue to show how manly you are, please feel free to take it to your local sports bar.

There's a worthwhile discussion to be had on nose art in general, but (most of) this isn't it.

Remember, this started about naming after a city, it just evolved into punitive sexy nose art. Back to the objection of the city name...
