I don't think Jim Cavanaugh's P-51 made it. It was down for maintenance the week before, so I'm not sure it was ready in time.

As CAPFlyer stated, the Cavanugh Mustang did not make it.

The CFM mechanics have been working long, long hours since "Sun n Fun" to perform a total rebuild of the mustang, with new paint, a lot of new parts, and also building a new motor, especially for GML.

However, in the end, with the unbelievable number of gremlins, time was not on their side, and so the very wise decision was made not to risk a trip to Ohio without further time being spent on the airframe and engine.

But we did bring the C-47

I believe Mike Potter's MKIV also didn't make it due to the illness of a close friend. Some things are more important!

By the way Dr. Eugene Richardson one of the Tuskegee airmen along with his wife visited VWoC on Saturday. He was thrilled to climb into the Mustang, and the new Sabre. Was particularly interested in the Corsair as his son was a Marine aviator. Then flew over to the CAVM in the Harvard.
