Has everyone left and gone home? Hope not, as the gathering isn't until tonight. Any new Pictures or info from cheeseland? There has been a little discusion activity since Monday, but no new pictures since then on this thread.

Yes Jaybird, that is me talking to Gerry Beck in the second picture. I spent the afternoon visiting with him and was fortunate to have done so. Sadly the loss of a great man and a huge loss to the Warbird community.

On a better note, I was also fortunate enough to have flown "Gentleman Jim" to and from OSH for Jack. Those 500 pounders knocked 30 to 35 mph off of cruise speed! Sure look cool though!!

"Still no guys in orange vests on motorcycles... "

first shot shows an 'orange shirt' on a tug, specified shot shows the front wheel of one of the scooters If you plan to slam my team, next time you want an 'oncoming' shot, we'll make sure we are all in it - between you and the plane. You don't see us because we had cleared the space, and graciously allowed the two photogs those shots. Thanks for your kind comments

My Dear, please allow me to mix you the first margarita of the evening.

The phrase "Still no guys in orange vests on motorcycles..." was no slam on anyone, but rather an utterance of amazement at my good fortune to have had such an excellent photographic opportunity without obstruction or interference.

I would be the first person to congratulate you and your crew on your ability to handle this difficult task with such aplomb. One of the true joys of AirVenture is for fans to approach these special aircraft up close, and the volunteers that marshall aircraft in and out of their respective areas do so with a combination of skill and safety, year after year.

To summarize: No, I do not "plan to slam (your) team". Quite the contrary, I have nothing but praise for your collective work. I'm sorry that my comment offended you. I promise to work more diligently at wording my utterances of amazement more carefully.
