Hey Ryan,

Lynn Hunt has tooled up and is building new center sections at his shop. As I recall he is building up two Corsairs for customers but you should call him for specifics.

I saw this a/c in Chino. It could be a flyer as anything could be given the needed time/money infusion.
They are building it to be a static.

My understanding is that Carl & tony are not doing the wings. They were outsourced to someone else in AZ. The work by Aero Trader is to airworthiness standards but for static display. That whole loan deal sucked :? :!:

In my conversation with Carl he stated that due to funding all work was being done to static standards. He said that many of the parts could be made airworthy in the future but his work was done to a static standard. Basically you would have to start over if you wanted a flyer from the pile of parts he was using.

Anyone know of any F4U-1A's being restored? I've been trying to find close-up pictures of the side panels and have not had any success. I have a few that show the panels but I need to be able to read the labels, placards, etc for the switches and breakers.

Anyone have details of Kermit's FG-1D, BuNo 88086 that was N63382 (early air racer)? I understand the center section is at Pioneer Aero in New Zealand as a pattern aircraft for Corsair spars and also spar repairs. Looking for current photos also.

You can add FG-1D BuNo. 92460 to the list of airframes coming into the restoration process!
In the Spring of 2008, the Corsair on the pole in Stratford, CT will be removed for restoration to static display condition.

I don't want to get into a heated debate about this, but it will be returned to it's lofty perch on the pole when the restoration process is finished.
