This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

After a couple weeks of family vacation, I've finally gotten a chance to upload my videos, so here's the link to them. A DVD of them will be available just as soon as I figure out how many discs it's going to be. My pictures will also be uploaded as soon as I can get through them all. I'll be sure to post the link here what they're done!

Evidently not?

I think a P-38 Lightning theme would be nice, but not realistic.
Agreed..I was just indulging in some wishful thinking. I'm not much of a jet fan, but I could go with a Korean War theme. I love the four-engine bomber theme, but I'm not sure how successful it would be in the shadow of 2005's B-17 roundup. The piston transport theme would be cool, too..but I don't know how much it would interest those outside of aviation geekdom.

If they do the Korean thing don't forget the bad guys Chi-com Mig 15 etc. and the allies Sea Fury,Firefly, etc.; and maybe even a P-82. (Just dreaming)

GOOD Point - MiG-
15 should definitely be included. Sea Fury is good and if only we could get an F-82 Twin Mustang back in the air that would be
excellent Korean War warbird.

It is official!
According to Mike and Kevin, Thunder 2008 will be back at its old location on the east side of the airport and the Show will be held in its original August time frame.
Once the dates for Oshkosh next year are set, Mike and Kevin will announce the exact dates.
They are also looking at expanding the original site to accommodate an increased audience.
Cheers,
Tom Walsh.

That is good to hear! I miss having the two flight lines meeting at the corner. It made for some great photography. Just the same the YAF did very well with their event this year. Looking forward to returning next year.

Here is a thought... since Yankee is in Michigan, and pretty close to Kalamazoo how is this...
2008 Thunder Over Michigan: Catflight
I know it would be a little different than the old Kalamazoo flights of one of each of the different types, but how cool would it be to have 10-15 "cats" flying together.
-Couple Wildcats
-Hellcat or two
-Couple Bearcats
-Couple Tigercats
-Whatever "Cat" jets that were in flying condition
-I know the F-14 and F-11 would be out of the question, but that isn't that big a deal.
Then, just fill the rest of the ramp with a good variety of warbirds!
(This coming from someone who has only seen pictures of the Catflights)

Thanks Tom, that's very good news. I can't wait to see what next year's theme will be.
I have enjoyed T.O.M. very much in 2005, 2006 and 2007. I look forward to the return to the August dates and the east side location.

If it's moving back to August, that means the dates will probably conflict with the IPMS National Convention again (Aug. 6-9.)

Dates will almost always conflict with someone somewhere. I look forward to the return to August dates, as seniority rules at my job site, and I had to beg, borrow and steal to get the 4th of July week off this year for Thunder, and there's no way I could get away with that two years in a row.
Looking forward to the old weekend dates near Osh, maybe I can do both next year.............

I agree that there will probably be some kind of conflict whenever they have it - but I think for the most part early August will work better than early July.
Besides if it's a choice between small planes on a table and big planes in the air, what choice is there??
Wait - don't get upset - I like model airplanes, too!!
