Nice, haven't seen this bird since it was in Pittsburgh several years back. I believe 2008.
Be neat to see a "dogfight" between one of the US jets vs the Mig. It was pretty cool a few yesterday back when the did the F-4 vs Mig 17 (which was supposed to be a Mig 21).

Aircraft List got a little shuffle with the addition of the TA-4. Looks like we lost a A-10 but gained a F-16 now.

That is a great addition, almost makes up for the Mig 23 canceling. I was just wondering about this bird as I haven't seen it in ages. It was last here at Thunder 2006.

Does anyone know if the pilot of the TA-4 and TBM are Legacy Certified? Would love to see them go up with the Super Hornet for a 3 ship Legacy flight. That right there would make up for the Mig 23. Would be the thing I am most looking forward to besides the Hind Demo.

Wonder why we lost the Hawg when they are based at Nearby Selfridge. Wish we could still have those Dutch F-16s, would love to have some pictures of some other than ones that I shot out of a plane window when taxiing at Tucson.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but not liking the weather forecast for this weekend. Keeps changing though. One day it said Saturday would be a washout and Sunday nice, yesterday it showed Saturday as partly cloudy with a chance of storms and Sunday a washout. Now today it shows Saturday a complete washout with 80% chance of storms and Sunday overcast.

I remember there was an A-4 flying Ypsi the year "sequestration" kicked in and gutted most airshows, I think that was just 3 years ago.

Far as weather, looks like scattered storms moving in the area late SAT and dissipating early/mid SUN, its in the hands of the gods but
I am optimistic.

As far as I know, NO Official Tailhook Legacy Flights were ever approved for 2016. Agree it would have been nice to see the Super Hornet fly with those two. I believe they are hoping that Official Legacy Flights will be back in 2017.

The Avenger and Skyhawk will be an "unofficial" Legacy Flight.

Looking back at previous pictures you are right. 2013 the A4 from WHF was there along with F-100 and F-86.

At this point so be it on the aircraft list and performers, the TOM crew will deliver another great show but what they can't bring is good weather. Fingers crossed!

Surprised, but pleased at this late date the aircraft list was updated.

Briefings are over. Time to mount the horses and draw the swords!

Have a good one.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

yeah that's the Warbird Heritage Foundation A-4 (N49WH). Someone said it is flying at the Chicago Air and Water Show this weekend. It also came in 2011 for the Navy Centennial show.

Last look I saw on the weather page looked better. Chance to T-storms in the afternoon but as of now it looks like the s*** hits the proverbial fan around 8pm and overnight with better weather Sunday. I was thinking about going to the Dream Cruise after Thunder on Saturday, but that might not be happening

Is listed as an attraction for both shows, guess we shall see.

Dream Cruise looks like it will be a mess, I think it was rained out last year too. I have a 68 Firebird 400, never have made it there, car tends to run hot and I have visions of me changing a starter in a parking lot if I took it there.

If the jets are ready, they are available to be booked. 90% of the time, no organization flies these airplanes for free, so for the most part it's up to what the airshows can afford, not whether the organization actually wants to bring them.
