During dinner I blurted out 'That's a MERLIN' my son sticks his head out the back door and confirms it was a P-51, but it was going away so couldn't tell if it was HFFs, FHC's, HFM's or perhaps CF's P-51 since they're in the neighborhood. And just now was overflown by HFF's dark blue SNJ.

HFM had an event this past weekend.
They had visitors from the North and the South drop in.
From their website~
"Visiting Aircraft: Historic Flight Foundation’s P-51 Mustang and SNJ, Canadian Museum of Flight’s Tigermoth and affiliated Harvard, Dave Desmon’s Navion, Dave Zoppa’s Cessna 140, Brad Engbrecht’s CJ6, and other privately owned aircraft!"

If you can- check their FaceBook page for pics of the events.

Three low and slow bi-wings from the North buzzed by here, but I didn't get pics of that.
 :? :(

Thanx Dave :supz:

On the Epps ramp KPDK this afternoon, nice looking OY-1 in VMO-6 markings. I don't know who owns it, & I can't see an "N" number. I wish I had time, I would go down & check it out. :D

I watched a brand-new Air India Boeing Dreamliner approach and land at Meacham Field while I was on my way to the VFM hangar this morning. Dreamliners are painted there.

While at the hangar, I saw a C-17 make a pseudo-tactical approach to NAS JRB FW.

Warbird or Not Warbird, I suppose it is down to a persons definition. T-6 Texan II. Not today, but yesterday evening. About 5 miles northwest of Decatur, TX, maybe 3 to 5 thousand feet. Not the greatest picture.

If it trains warbird drivers, it qualifies as a warbird as far as I'm concerned. Likewise, any picture is ten tons better than no picture. Ya done good, son. :partyman:

One of the T-28's from Midway Airport, KGWY, was overhead this evening doing some airwork and a few rolls, thank you very much...

Since the Bison Fire started nearby on the 4th, everyday brings new tankers and helicopters over the house. We've had SEAT'S, P2V's, BAE-146's, S2's, S64, BV107 and today a K-1200. The lineup changes daily as they send tankers to the Las Vegas fire and bring new ones in to cover us. Here is a link to the Great Basin aircraft status:

http://gacc.nifc.gov/egbc/logistics/tac ... ctical.php

When the fire started, we could sit on the rear deck and watch it about 9 miles to the SE. Now we can stand in front of the house and watch it 6 miles to the NE. We are less than 3 miles east of the Minden-Tahoe airport right between the airport and the fire. With our higher elevation I can watch all the activity at the airport.
When Tanker 46 departed KMEV on the 5th, other pilots were asking on the radio if they were going to hit the fire. Nope, they did two flights for drop tests away from the fire and hope to complete the process and be good to go in a couple of weeks. We can sure use another BAE-146 in service.

A flight of SEVEN T6/SNJs headed south-bound over LAX just about two minutes ago!!!

My question is- where did they come from, and where are they going?

Update- where ever they went- it wasn't far.
They flew back to the north @1351 the same afternoon.
(that's 1:51PM to you civilians...)

A Gooney Bird just flew over Central Expressway in Dallas, heading in the general direction of Love Field.

About 16:39 today landing at KSAT, a DeHavilland Rapide ( I think). Never seen one in the flesh, but they are beautiful! Wonder who it was?

It would sound like possible confirmation that Jerry Yagen's Rapide has gone to Rod Lewis. As Liza posted in the Fighter Factory thread, the aircraft was heading to Texas where its new owner is based.
