The Moon Goddess and I were sitting out in the yard drinking a couple of cold ones a few minutes ago, and an all-yellow SNJ flew right over us, about 3,000 feet up and headed southwest. Nice, smooth radial sound to go with that cold Miller Lite!

I was at the Hanover county airport,VA yesterday about 15 minutes before a large line of storms hit. A T-28 flew over heading west toward the storm. Does anyone know who it was?

I saw a two-ship flight with an all-yellow Stearman and what looked like a Stinson L-1. Don't see many of those!

Dutch Catalina PH-PBY on the way to airbase Volkel for day two of the Dutch Air Force Days. It is always nice to see and hear the oldest flying Catalina in the world. It still sounds great!

What were you drinking? Don't think there are any L-1s flying in the lower 48. Hope I am wrong but................Didn't happen anyway, no picture!!!

While doing email etc. this morning I heard "that sound" from without, knocked over two chairs and a table making my way out the door  , was rewarded with sight & sound of a fort rumbling low over League City. It almost looked silver, but conditions too hazy to tell. I expect it was T-Bird, but if anyone knows please do tell.... :)

Driving to my sons place yesterday I spy a small helo coming at me at about 600 ft. At first I thought it was one of the local ROBINSON R-22 nearly a choppers. Turns out it was a HUGHES 269 Vee Belt express 8).
During dinner I blurted out 'That's a MERLIN' my son sticks his head out the back door and confirms it was a P-51, but it was going away so couldn't tell if it was HFFs, FHC's, HFM's or perhaps CF's P-51 since they're in the neighborhood. And just now was overflown by HFF's dark blue SNJ.

Quite possibly it was a Yak-12, which is visually very similar to an L-1. I think I even remember hearing something about one being painted up as an L-1.

I just looked up Yak-12, and that's certainly a possibility. Whatever I saw was overall silver with no warbird markings. It had a long-ish fuselage like an L-1 or Yak-12 and was definitely radial powered.

And Ober, I did say ...what looked like... in my original post.

HFM had an event this past weekend.
They had visitors from the North and the South drop in.
From their website~
"Visiting Aircraft: Historic Flight Foundation’s P-51 Mustang and SNJ, Canadian Museum of Flight’s Tigermoth and affiliated Harvard, Dave Desmon’s Navion, Dave Zoppa’s Cessna 140, Brad Engbrecht’s CJ6, and other privately owned aircraft!"

If you can- check their FaceBook page for pics of the events.

Three low and slow bi-wings from the North buzzed by here, but I didn't get pics of that.
 :? :(
