Kevin recently posted this addition on the TOM facebook page.

"The “big boy” helo is coming back!
Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 15 (HM-15) from NAS Norfolk, VA will be sending an MH-53E Sea Dragon to the 2011 THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN Air Show.
The THUNDER crew are proud to welcome the men and women of “The Blackhawks” squadron!"

The Legacy Parade sounds awesome! Little disappointed that the PBY won't be participating in the parade, but it will still be great to see one on static display. There's so many other great aircraft in the air that I'll be too excited at the show to notice anyway :D . I don't recall ever having the opportunity to see anything like that.

Any word on who will be flying the Zero demo? I searched the thread, but may have missed it. Seeing a Zero fly will be a first for me.

Also, any word on Hornets for the Hornets Nest display? I think I read somewhere that the Navy is only handling Hornet scheduling on a month-to-month basis, so I'm sure that's probably the reason there hasn't been much info on that yet. Been awhile since I've seen a Hornet in a static display area... although I'll probably barely notice them with all the warbirds :D

Hey,
Shannon and I will not be attending ToM this year due to "Budget Cuts" I have imposed, even though we are about to spend the most money we ever have.

The one thing I did do back in December was buy tickets for the show while they were on sale. Now I dont need them.
I bought 2 parking passes and 4 admission tickets. I am just looking to get the cash back that I spent, a total of $80.20

Let me know if you are interested, we can make arrangements to get them sent via mail or whatever.

(I am so looking forward to seeing everyones pics from the show.)

Not sure how accurate it is, but in the featured section it says we can expect to see more than two dozen Hornets.

Looks like an amazing line-up, can't wait for July!

It does sound great. I AGREE that it would be nice to see the PBY in the parade and it seems that the "Fly Navy" T-33 should be there too. I also think it would be nice to see at least a couple more of the current Navy/CoNA/heritage paint scheme aircraft in the parade such as the P-3 and others (so far only a T-6B and T-34C are shown). Well there still may be some additions before the schedule is finalized.

Should be a outstanding show!

We are planning on flying the PBY & T-33 in the "Legacy Parade" (they were accidentally left off the schedule).

I saw the T-33 fly at the TICO Warbird show in March and am looking forward to seeing it fly again in Michigan. While this is not in an authentic T-33/TV-2 scheme from the fifties or sixties that I am aware of, it is an attractive paint scheme and a fine tribute to the Centennial of Naval Aviation. The T-33 is one of my favorite classic vintage jets.
