Think it was the Bristol Britannia which had the OMC or "Oh My Christ!" button; the Proteus engines could be prone to intake icing and one might occasionally flame out in the right cruise conditions, requiring a rapid relight action by the crew accompanied by a high pitched "OMC!" plus sundry bangs and sheets of flame from the offending turbine.

The recent MiG-23 accident made me realize that "swing wing" was not the inevitable term for variable incidence wings, and deserves to be on this nickname list.

The Mig-23 is variable sweep, not variable incidence.
