I was at Pima Air Museum last year and noticed they had a bunch of airplane skin wall hangings that were donated by (I'm assuming adjacent to D-M) scrap yards.
I wish I could have had time to go try to track down one of these places to see if your experience could be repeated today, but there wasn't enough time.
I'd dearly love to be able to get some big-ish sheets or airplane skin, from any type of airplane, to make my own wall hanging stuff...

Ok saw more pics of it not a 104, looks like a bomb with a cockpit don't know what the hell it is

More specifically, F-86H-1, ex-131st FIS, MA ANG. Sadly still unidentified beyond that.

Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence that former ANG aircraft in that region ended up in a New Jersey scrapyard.

Don't know if some times, by the time they were retired from the Guard, were so old that the AF didn't need to salvage any parts, so they sold them locally.

Or they could have been damaged. As a kid, a T-33 at my dad's base threw a turbine blade during an uncontained engine failure, it was burned at a firefighter tool.

And circa 1980, I found most of an Idaho ANG F-86D in a Boise scrap yard. And I have heard of an early F-104A ending up in Maine despite there not being any F-104 units around there.

Similarly, Hawaii ANG F-102s were scrapped locally when they found corrosion in them.

Also, don't discount airframes sent to the Aberdeen Proving Ground ending up in Jersey. If they were surplus to requirements, the Army could have gotten rid of them. Also the FAA tech center in NJ.

I would also guess that just because their paperwork mentioned D-M, doesn't mean they really went to Arizona.
They could have been sold/given away by D-M's sales office but remained at their final duty station.

Just a guess.

Looks like some sort of ejection seat test rig or trainer. There appears to be some writing on a darker panel... I wonder what it says.

You're exactly right. The C-121G was used for explosives testing at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and the Convair 800 and C-133A came from the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City.

This will be a mis-recording of 161022, the tail boom of an AH-1W which is present.

Oh, darn it! No wonder I couldn't find "191022". The picture I used as reference shows the tail upside down in a pile of junk, so when I read the number I must have forgotten to account for it. (Its not the first time I've done this either.) Anyway, it's been corrected. Thanks!

I talked to Wade 8 years ago. He owns all this. He's pretty gruff. He said once in a while he puts stuff up on ebay. I asked if I could look around. He said no due to inc issues. Said he had to go and hung up on me. lol

Might be late to the party, but I believe episode 2 of Amazon's "Fallout" TV series was filmed here. Other parts of the show were filmed at Wendover as well.
