I see that kit doesn't come in a U.S. version - what would need to be done to make it into a correct BT-14?

Chris, it would depend on your skill level. You would need to change the engine, cowlings and wings for a start. Not so bad for an experienced modeller, but not so easy for most of us.

Thanks Doug - so I take it the Yale in BT-14 drag in the NMUSAF isn't quite correct either? :wink: Guess I'll wait for a "real" kit (got too many planes stacked up in the pattern now...)

Chris, the Yale's canopy, landing gear, fin and rudder are essentially the same as the BT-14 fittings, but that's where the similarities end. I've never quite understood why a prestigious organization like the NMUSAF would set up such a 'close but no cigar' montage. Heck, the Swedes took 20 years to build a 'from the ground up' Sk 14 (licence-built BT-9) when they couldn't come up with a survivor.
