Mercer Air Field was part of the World Aircraft Museum that closed in the late 80s. Most of the planes have since been sold off and the ones left are rotting in the elements. Here is what was left a couple of years ago:

I must have driven past this place a couple hundred times always in a hurry to get to Atlanta and never stopped.

At Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) in Marietta there is a combat veteran B-29 "Sweet Eloise" on display.
