They have been found in other Bomb Groups as well. I wonder if that is because the ship was transferred from the 91st.

Beats me. But I do know that the 91st was emmulated in a few ways, I can't imagine that if there was a good formation light system, that another group would never consider copying it.

The setup may have originated with the 91st, but at some point they were also being installed Stateside. Karl Hauffe has found drawings on microfiche from the Cheyenne Mod Center detailing the lights.

I did some work on MARCs 17 made a tool that would take the fuel cap apart so the tank could be droppe for wing bolt AD. Member seeing flush colored light's on the top of the wing and on the tail. Still the elect drawings would answer all these questions.

Oh yea forgot when they hit that ILS shack in NC and replaced the outer left wing panel they Ferreyed it to BVI for more repairs David asked me and another guy to paint the wing panel to go to airshow at Gen NY I saw those lights again..
