"Ten Photos total. Nine photos dated 12-4-74, C-97G and RB-57A depicted while waiting for sale to start in near future. I have included pics of an H-19, HU-16 'Katanga', and RF-84 which were at the Saginaw Museum, but not listed in sales. The 11 Mar 1975 sale was cancelled and aircraft relisted on 8 Apr 1975 list. That sale shows winning bidders. The last photo of RB-57A was taken at Selma Airport, Muncie IN of 21463 on 4-20-1981. As I recall, it had been demiled somewhat, but doesn't seem so in photo."
These were all USAF aircraft that had been loaned to the short-lived Michigan Military Air Museum in the early 1970s. When the museum closed in 1974, the aircraft were impounded and sold; some would even fly again (I've corrected some serials).

No info on this one past the sale; Geoff Goodall lists it as "assumed scrapped".

(51-)126 (c/n 43460) converted to C-124C. Scrapped at the Tri-City Airport in Freeland, Michigan in the mid-1970's. It had flown in there in 1970 for a static display with the "Mid-Michigan Air Museum" but the aircraft there were abandoned when the museum failed to make any money. This plane had been damaged by a windstorm and lost its rudder and so it was scrapped on the spot.

Good question. I found a topographical map that showed the location of the Selma airfield at 40.1880993, -85.2591355; the earliest aerial image (1994) shows a vague area that looks like it could have been a grass airstrip - but no RB-57. Today it's a plowed field.
