The P-38F is clearly owned by Jim Slattery, who also had one of his two Tigercats restored by Westpac. A fantastic collection of flying warbirds in California, Mr. Slattery also has the Helldiver and Dauntless under restoration at Vulutre's Row, the Brewster Corsair under restoration at Ezell's, and the Tigercat under restoration at Fighter Rebuilders.

Through the FAA data base, the Flying Heritage Collection has the old CAF P-38J 42-104088 registered to them, which has also been reported to be at Westpac. The recovered combat-vet P-38J 42-103988 "Jandina III" has also been reported to be at Westpac and has also been reported to be owned by the FHC. As standard for FHC restoration projects, there is quite a bit of secrecy, so it will be interesting to see just what particular airframe identity will be emerging for FHC.

Doesn't he also have a B-23 under restoration somewheres?

Yep, his B-23 is under restoration at Sanders'.

His Catalina, F3F, Tigercat, Avenger and Skyraider have been displayed and flown at select airshows (namely Planes of Fame) over the past few years.

Slattery's 2nd Tigercat has flown. I saw a photo somewhere of it rolling out at a California field. Clearly had 374 on the cowlings. Also, the B-23 is no longer at Sanders, but has been moved to another shop. I've seen those photos somewhere, but can't remember where or to what shop. I'll have to keep digging.

I wonder if they bought any vehicles from the Littlefield (MVTF) collection?

On a side note

From Jason Fortenbacher over on the WIX facebook page.
"Flying Heritage Collection has about 1/4 of its new hangar blocked off with big thick black curtains and these signs"

A German half-track from the Littlefield collection, auctioned for somewhere over $1.2m, turned up at FHC yesterday apparently.

With the addition of tanks and other military vehicles, "Flying Heritage Collection" could change their name to "Military Heritage Collection".
