2014 National Cherry Festival (Michigan)

Great pics! When I was a kid, my family used to go up to the Traverse City area around the time of the Cherry Festival and my Dad and I would watch the show. Haven't been up for the show in awhile, but I'm glad to see that it's still going strong. Traverse City is an absolutely beautiful area of Michigan.

It is pretty in the fall. I always thought it would be nice to have an early fall air show. Nice temps, nice weather.

Also....there are two full time CG air stations on the Great Lakes. One in TVC and one co-located at Selfridge ANGB. In the summer I believe they still open two AirFac's (Air Facilities)...one in Muskegon and one in Waukegan.

It may be common knowledge to some , but it took me a lot of digging before I found that Jerry Yagen and Comanche Fighters/ Warbirds both have a P-51 depicting " Double Trouble Two". If only the photos had shown the "N" number. There is no listing in the "named aircraft" in the registry of P-51's for "Double Trouble Two" And I believe all 3 Mustangs at the festival are owned by the same people.. When you are given the "N" number you can find the true registered serial number of the airframe instead of the number depicted to represent a historical aircraft. It was kinda fun tracking it down , I think I'm right.

I too was told all three were owned by the same people/person.

For some reason I did not have a pic showing the Fragile But Agile's N number. Sorry about that. A Google (The Mustang website) showed it as N98CF. It also showed it has several previous numbers too. The bio says it is out of Texas. The license plate on their black trailer was out of Texas too.

Also NL7TF has under the windscreen on right side of fuselage "Susie", which I believe is Tom Freidkin's wifes name... And I don't think it has the hardpoints for drop tanks like Jerry Yagens does but I could be wrong about that...
