I agree with the positive attitudes. Not an exact replica, and not intended to be an exact replica. Just a fun custom in which 2 people can go play.

Analogy: A perfect '69 Boss 429 Mustang is awesome, worth a ton of money and usually a trailer queen. An authenic Boss 429 clone is very cool and more driveable. A '69 Resto-mod Mustang can provide very high performance, be easier to maintain, be a lot of fun and be driven frequently. I like them all. Think of the current NA-50s and P-64s are resto-mods.

Take a peek at John Shell's Super 6, 3 blade prop ,bubble canopy, P&W 1830 with, according to his registration, 1650HP.
First seen it at Sun-N-Fun a couple years ago, really something. Turn your T-6 into whatever you want.

Mark - Very nice. That's got to be the most authentic P-64 / NA.50 replica flying. Is the paint scheme whimsical or based upon a real one? - Dave

If that was directed at me, The paint was based on a scheme for the base commanders plane from Williams Field, we never found any photos and just went by a description of it.
The plane was built out of a pile of parts with almost every part modified. 4 ft were cut off each wing, the drop tank was operational, which when added to the main fuel gave 205 gallons. The cowl was a modified HU-16, exhaust was off the #3 engine from a B-17, F4F wheels, lowered canopy rails. gusset plates welded into every tube cluster, added spars in the elevators and rudder, a auxiliary oil cooler under the baggage floor

I assume the plane is still flyable, it is part of the Tango Tango Squadron based in Thailand

In addition to the EAA example there is another genuine NA50/P-64 stuck on a pole in Peru:
