Not tiring to be an A-Hole, and I’ve never done Fundraising.
But it seems to me that if you want the Big money you should offer something Big, more than the Hat and T-shirt stuff.

"Pledge $6,500 or more

PACKAGE: Personalized Thank You Note from the MAAM restoration team AND Your name on the MAAM Website AND Your name on the MAAM Sponsor Wall AND a P-61 Support Team Hat AND a P 61- Support Team Tee Shirt AND a Lifetime Membership to Mid-Atlantic Air Museum – “Welcome to the Family!” AND Personal VIP Invitation to the P-61 Roll-out party when the restoration is completed. Includes: -VIP Passes -Dinner at the Museum with Senior Staff -Close Access to the Plane -Professional Photo opportunities AND a VIP Ride on the P-61 once restoration is complete

Thats big, but 0 Backers, Maybe they should lower it a little.

And “Estimated delivery: Apr 2014” does that mean the plane is going to fly this month? :?

I understand what you mean Phil. I'm looking at it as the flying P-61 being the reward, not a hat or a shirt. I like donating towards a tangible goal (wing spars). I know exactly how my money will be used, not just placed in some general fund.

I think this Kickstarter campaign is a huge step for the MAAM. They have traditionally been more of a brick and mortar museum with not much of an on-line presence. (Long periods of time between Black Widow updates, one mailed newsletter each year, and until recently a very quiet facebook page.) I hope once this campaign is successful they'll put a bit more energy into their online activity to raise awareness about their project and museum.

Just to prove I’m not an A-Hole, I just gave $250 for the Kickstarter Campaign.
I can’t wait to see it fly, and I’m sure I will enjoy the book in the meantime.

Good luck with everything,
Phil

See that "wink" it's there for a reason ...
I'm hoping I don't have to explain beyond that, let's just say "it's a good thing"

Trying to help get the word out - I posted it on the Wendover museum facebook page - although it looks like they are only about $800 short of the goal maybe we can spread the word a bit more!

I wonder who is going for a P-61 ride?

This is the most monumental recovery / restoration project that is likely to ever be!

Congrats on the Kickstarter. Looking forward to my new T-shirt :D

Well that lucky individual is going to one of only a handful of folks that can say they've flown in a Black Widow. Awesome. 8)

The final total keeps changing - they're back down to below $35K this morning. Are people backing out?
