My father flew Corsairs on Peleliu during WWII with VMF-121 and later VMF-122. These pictures are of my Dad, then LT Don Wilson, and his FG-1D on Peleliu about August 1945.

I went to Peleliu 2 years ago, here are some pics of the plane parts I saw, I believe Peleliu might be one of the best preserved battlefields in the world, well worth the trip if you like this sort of thing, anyone interested drop me a note, we had a very good, honest local guide… I have a couple more photos over here of other things there…. http://tinyurl.com/l74nndp

armyjunk2 - Are pictures 2 and 4 of the Liberator graveyard on Angaur, or the Corsair from Rob's pictures?

my photos were taken on Peleliu, not much left of the aircraft....but many other things to see on the island
