Two things,

1. Is that a thermometer on the pitot tube of the TBD?

2. The flight deck looks reeaal small when covered with SBDs.

Looks like they are doing target practice with the scoring camera mounted so it could be an inclinometer for pilot reference or for another camera mounted behind the pilot looking to the left for scoring/critiquing

Noteworthy on the Doolittle shots.
Pic one is unedited
Pic two has retouching notes to censor out the radar and rangefinder positions
Pic three has had the retouching done

Is possible to provide some of the issue dates that these came from. I often see Life magazines for sale but they are usually seeled up so you won't know what you get until after you have paid for them. Would love to konw which issues I should look for adn be abel to pick up some for my own collection.

Nice pics....thanks for posting these.

What is that device under the wing in this pic? Looks odd if it's a bomb rack.

:supz: Mark the photos are awesome, especially the B&W. As someone who grew up during WWII most of my memories thru photos, newsreels, etc are in black & white. Thank you for posting. You cannot post too many.
