Condolences to the family.... I heard about it within an hour or so.... Looks like 2012 is off to a sugar start.

I first met Howard at the High on Kalamazoo Airshow in 1983. He was there with the Bearcat. He was standing on the wing and growled something at me. I was 23 and really he scared the heck out of me. He was one interesting guy. The warbird circuit will not be the same.

I had the privilege to see Howard participate in several Legacy Flight exhibitions.

Blue Skies, Howard.

I had a similar expirience with Howard. Very sad news.
Here is a shot of him in the office at Oshkosh 2005. Semper Fi Howard...

Howard was one of those larger than life figures that you thought would live forever.

Semper Fi, and Godspeed, Howard ...

Please god don't turn 2012 season into the last season...

Never have met the man before, or his planes, but RIP.

Does anyone have a picture of his bearcat? ( in one piece)

Very sad news. Have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Pardue's airshow many, many times, he'll definitely be missed.

a huge loss of one of the Icons of the community. I would say he was definelty larger than life and lived it to the fullest. He will be sorely missed and this is a great tragedy but I am heartened that he probaly went out the way he would have wanted to- living life - and not stuck in a hospital room.

Sad news indeed. He was definitely one of the legends in the warbird community, and will be sorely missed. I only got the opportunity to see him fly his iconic bearcat once, at the Jeffco Airshow back in '84.
