Cutting Edge made a conversion in 1/72, maybe even 1/48. It's been OOP for quite a while. About 20 or so years ago when the first pics of the drone controller version started appearing in magazines, I did a conversion using the old Airfix B-29, I don't think the Academy kit had been released yet, but I used wooden dowels for the engine cowls, tubing for the exhusts & some sort of 1/48 Griffon engined Spitfire or maybe a Seafire 4 bladed props. When the AWACS pics came out, I made one of them too. They 'look' right anyway. Nowadays, there's a 1/72 Antonov An-12 that's made by Roden, IIRC, & the props & cowls shouldn't be too hard to adapt as the An-12 uses the same engines & props as the KJ-1. I've always wondered what the performance was like with twice the power.

Does anyone make those engines in 48th or 72nd scale?
