Nope, the resemblance has been noted in previous postings over the years.. :D

hmmm, well I think I have a different viewpoint after seeing this

how many people do you know capable of dedicating years to something they believe, test it, see it fail and saying "I just have to build a new, better one that works?" Off course they have some reality problems but they sure are an example of being tenacious and resourceful. There must be something great in a country capable of generating such lunatics. It is a good sign of it being able to conquer the future. If for each 1000 lunatics one of them hits the right "nail", hell, it will be crucial "nail", I'll bet and we are all going to be doing better by it happening.

just MHO,

(I would offer some euro cents but looking at things I think I'll need them in the near future)

cheers!

Vincent Burnelli, except his planes did work...

Bob Diemert seems more like the Don Quixote of aviation with a lot of Edward D. Wood Jr. mixed in.

"If it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'!" :drink3:

As for Deimert, people like him definitely make the world a more interesting place. And it's true that "outside the box" thinkers like him occasionally stumble on some genuine breakthroughs. I always think of Nicola Tesla..while regarded by many as an eccentric with some really crazy ideas, he came up with (and perfected) alternating current, which made our modern electrical grid possible (despite Edison's efforts to undermine him.)
