Thanks for the compliment. I think Scott wants something with a more plain background to make editing easier. Most of my night shots have pretty colorful backgrounds. If he's interested i'll definitely hook him up!

I take no credit for these two. But their nice anyway. Probably can't use them I would imagine.

Mind if I use that one for the B-17 registry header?

Some great pics posted here, but seems to me for a banner, you want something a little more "boring", against a plain background and relatively wide and short. You probably want the plain background to be blue rather than white/gray. Here are some you could clip and tilt as necessary to make horizontal.

I'm sure you'll get dozens of good submissions. A random rotating banner might be cute.

I'm leaning towards this one at the moment, it has the right background, both aircraft are positioned well, and there are two types of aircraft. Definitely the type of composition I'm looking for. This is tough though, there are so many good pictures. I want to use a bunch of them for the registry headers!

Do you have a bigger version of this one? I'm looking at about 1000 pixels wide.

And I'll looking into the rotating banner idea. Or maybe change it on a month basis.

How about using a P.R. shot from Boeing with any product from the B-9 to the 787 flying past Mt. Rainier? B-15, B-17, B-29, B-50, KC-135, B-47, B-52 they are all panoramic, and since the current header shot is an old Air Force photo-the airplanes against the pretty mundane backdrop of the mountain works to good effect, especially if there is some slight overcast in the background.
