Either contact that county's Tax Assessor / Collector's office, or, since you have the property's address, do a web search for that address within the county. That should help you to find the former owner's name. Also, you could try the county's public library, and see if they keep old Chilton Criss-Cross registries. The post office, the local utilities company, the sheriff's office, etc., since the owner is deceased, there would be also a record at the court house.

I did contact the Daisetta post office and the lady on the phone knew the family well, but she said that she had no forwarding addresses for them and that they had all moved away from the area. I will try some of your ideas Tulio. Thank you as always for your help. I will try to drive out to the area again this week and bug all of the locals to death about it. They will either help me or shoot me around there.

Hrmm... name of Bill "LaVrier", family in California...

Did you try looking for "LaVier"? With the aviation connection, it may be possible the people you're looking for were related to Tony LaVier (Lockheed Test Pilot, NAHF Enshrinee).

I haven't tried LaVier yet. I'm trying to get someone on the phone over at the post office right now. Hopefully one of them will have the correct spelling this time.

I just spoke to an 86 year old man that has known these people your many years. He said that most of the family has died off. The man that I had spoken to 10 years ago is named Bill LeVrier and had moved to the San Marcos TX area. He would be in his mid 60's now. The man I spoke to today said that that he will track him down for me. He said that the airplane was sold because someone had stolen the instrument panel out of it and it made MR.LeVrier mad and he decided to sell it before anything could be stolen from it. The LeVrier family had owned a junkyard in town and that is how they had accumulated so many neat antiques.

Switchboard.com. Plugged in last name and state of Texas for location, limited it by age. Didn't try for the phone number, but you should be able to find it online with the info and knowing how he's listed.

Glad to be of help.

I was able to find Thomas LeVrier on Facebook. The profile picture is without a doubt the guy that I talked to years ago and it shows that he graduated from Daisetta High School and that he now lives in San Marcos!!!!!! I sent him a message and now I have to hold my breath to see if I get a response.

********

Glad to see that you guys have managed to locate him!

Carlisle, if you want to go to San Marcos in the next couple of days, let me know. I am home, you know where I live. We could go and visit the CAF Centex Wing @ San Marcos, too.
