Here I was, all set to type something offensive about Limbaugh (one of the people I most loathe, not that I'm a big Pelosi fan either), and then you go and post something sensible like this... yes, actually, that is an outstanding idea. History and it's preservation knows no political boundary, and having powerful Republican and Democrat supporters is an excellent idea.

Will the Belle (or any other B-17) be near Andrews at any point on this tour?

Totally unrelated, if that were to happen, the bomb-doors are active. Let me reset that breaker now...

On a personal standpoint, I couldn't care less whether you like the man or not, and it bugs me that narcissitic people have to inject their "views" into a thread about the AVIATION EVENT, not the political activity. Of course, it's always one side that has to impose their views, you may notice. Something about "thou doth protest too much" me thinks.

I'm not sure if I would want Pelosi on my side with anything involving military hardware other than luxury transports. Just look at how the most powerful member of the House of Representatives has treated the USS Iowa.

At least Limbaugh would be consistent.

Capisce, Ztex... nothing further from me on that subject.

I will say how awesome that head-on pic of the Belle is with the kid looking up at it, though... just a great shot which really captures the sort of spirit I think we all felt (or still feel!) when we see these wonderful machines.

A Lancaster is a Heavy... a B17 is a 4 engine Medium ;)

Brings back MANY good memories.
The first B17 I flew in was Liberty Belle.
It loaded out of Hooks, where TR is now.
I sold a bunch of parts to Tom Reilly and some were for the second Brooks plane.

And I couldn't stop smiling for days after my flight. It certainly made me re-double my efforts on TR.

Best wishes to the LB Foundation and thanks for the loan of the landing gear motor.
See you at Thunder!

SPANNER

PS Rush is alright, but he's kinda Liberal for my tastes! :axe:

Hey Trevor, I *think* it's around here somewhere. It needs to be rebuilt (again!). I may be able to get to it once DC-3 season ends in mid-October and I'm caught up in hours.

Ah yes, my favorite view, and a great way to cool down on hot days while 'working' as the third crew.

Didn't his dad fly P-38's in the war? He used to had a model of one in the back ground. Glad you had time to visit with thim. I thought he has a G550??

Fly safe,
