Wow! What beautiful shots of the beautiful Houston-Hobby building. Thanks so much for posting them. But is leaves us salivating for more..
Favorite part(s) are those 3D rectangular reliefs(?) over each of the twelve ground floor tall windows that show milestones of aviation. you show 3 of them. any chance you have similar shots of the rest?

To the best of my memory there were only 3 designs, they were reversed and repeated. I did take some close ups though:

TThe Peterson AFB Museum is housed in the old Colorado Springs terminal. It is a cool use of an old, attractive building.

The Art Deco Terminal building at New Orleans Lakefront Airport (KNEW) is currently under restoration.
The building exterior had been covered in non-descript metal panels in the 1960's, but much of the
interior remains original. After being damaged in Hurricane Katrina the decision was made to restore the
building to its original state.

I used to love eating lunch in the Walnut Room and watching the planes land and depart through the big
picture windows!

Ryan,
Is there a museum in the Alameda terminal? The vehicles out front makes me wonder.
Thanks. Paula

Stinson Municipal Airport still has it's 1930's terminal building and control tower. Last year they completed the addition of wings to the building that makes the building quite a bit more useful while retaining most of the old look.

One of the nicest terminals I've been to is at Wheeling-Ohio County airport (Stiffel Field). Not only is the building historic, but the inside is a museum itself, painstakingly put together and maintained by its manager, Tom Tominack.

Here's a link to an album of photos of HLG from Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/willynwv/3553628049/in/set-72157618625324876/

Also, can't forget the Ryan Center at Floyd Bennett Field. Houses NPS administration and visitor's center, but currently under restoration.

The next is Canton Fulton in Ohio. The same air field that has the Goodyear airdock on it.

Check out the terminal on the Southeast side of Port Columbus, Ohio. This was the old TAT terminal that was a stopping point on the cross-US train/Ford Trimotor route. Passengers would disembark from the train and walk across the road to the terminal.

Charles Lindbergh and many other aviation personalities were there for the first trip.

The building is available for office space lease but is not occupied at this time I believe...sure would like to have that control tower office...

If you drive under the railroad bridge on Hamilton Road you can see the art-deco wings motif on the cross-span...very 1920/1930s period art....
