If you think the H-19 is bad, check out the Yale. It is NOT a BT-14! Different wings, different engine/cowling, and different nationality.

So, either paint it as RCAF 3417 or go out and find a Wasp Jr and a set of T-6 wings to put on her!
(I'm hoping for the later, since I sure could put those surplus Yale wings to good use)
Yes, I know the attach angle bolt holes don't line up, but how hard would it be to put either T-6 attach angles on a Yale centre section or Yale attach angles on T-6 wings? :P Compared to restoring something like the A-17, that would be a piece of cake!

The USAF museum H-19B is 52-7587, painted up to represent H-19A 51-3893 "Hop-A-Long". I guess the Air Force didn't understand the historical significance of 3893 when they sold her to Spain in 1962.
The other H-19A involved in the record breaking event across the Atlantic was 51-3890,"Whirloway" which was donated to the Nebraska Adjutants Office in 1960, later said to have gone on for use with West Nebraska Tech College.

Thank you for that. I understand why museums paint their aircraft in other markings to tell of important stories in history. Even more so when it is a rare or hard to find example.
