How was the bombardier supposed to exit during an emergency? The same way he got in?

Chris is right, that's the emergency nose exit for a GROUND emergency. Not recommended for in flight!

I take it you weren't wearing a Super Rabbit cape! We put out and fly the US and Texas flags from the Yellow Rose pilot windows as we taxi. One time one got away from the pilot and the prop caught it.

Only thing prettier than a B-25 in flight is a pretty lady smiling at you. Such a lovely photo! :D

The first time I did that I scared the cr*p out Wayne. I pulled the hatch and stood straight up and waved at him then started wiping off the plexi so he could see a bit better :shock:

We put out and fly the US and Texas flags from the Yellow Rose pilot windows as we taxi. One time one got away from the pilot and the prop caught it.

At the Fresno B-25/Doolittle reunion Jim (our leader) got the the inspired idea to remove the overhead escape hatch and stand up behind Jeff & Wayne while hold up a moderate sized American flag while waving at folks has we taxied by. Everyone loved it and Jim had a blast. The problem was the every show the flag got bigger and Jim started waving it in stead of his hand By the time we did Arlington the flag was more suited for the mast of a battleship than our old bomber. At Arlington they use one runway has a taxiway and part of the airshow was the warbird parade where the warbirds after flying all taxing together in parade like fashion with all the spectators on both sides of the taxiway. It's very cool. Since they go small to big the B-25 is always last. So down the taxiway comes the B-25, Jim and that big *ss flag and he's really waving that sucker. I swear I saw it go throught the prop arc at least 3 times. Well 3 strikes and your out cus on #4 there was a very loud crack and the HS ripped the flag off the pole (the pole was bent over TG Jim didn't let go of it). I watch in silent horror has old glory rode that big prop for a pretty good spell before it was spat out straight down only to be run over by the big, oily right main tire. I'll never forget the look on Jim's face has the 25 taxied by I ran for the flag hoping to scoop it up before anyone noticed (good luck there ) but was beat to it by a platoon of CAPers who refused to give it up even to my pleas of "give me the F-ing flag. Only to the owner their leader replied. Has I ran to warn Jim they came martching down in formation and in front of the 25 (at lots of people) they ritually folded the flag. Has the leader approached Jim to return HIS flag he leaded over to me and said "Kill me now".
That's the last time a flag ever flew from our B-25.

Wow Jack! We don't feel so stupid now! We are a lot more careful IF we put the flags out these days.

As for the turret photo, I can't quite figure it out either, unless it was taken with a good telephoto lens?
