Neat find. By the looks of the instrument panel it looks like someone has been giving the old girl some attention.
Related. I've seen one of these lockheeds sitting in Xenia, Ohio in about the same condition as this one. Although I beleive it is the civilian variant (who knows?). It's on the property of a Skydiving outfit. Beautiful lines.
Keep us posted, love this stuff.

Err....I think you mean west of I-71
Sorry, don't have any pictures of the old girl but I wouldn't mind head'n out there Saturday to take some pictures.
Can't say I've specifically seen a Beech 18 out that way but iirc that same skydiving outfit has a C-45 in their inventory.

Shay,
Interesting. I have a rather vague memory of a couple of derelict Beech 18s and a Lockheed at Red Stewart Field may years ago...late 80s. Sadly I never took any pics, and the older I got the more I doubted my memory of a Lockheed in Southern Ohio. But now you mention one up the road in Xenia, so maybe I wasn't crazy.
I hope you can get some pics to post in the near future.

Just to follow up with this thread. I did make it out to the airfield but it was not a Lockheed and was infact a Beech,....a couple of them.
I started a new thread to keep from sidetracking Gary's.

(just to fill the time while Gary gets back to us with more Adventures in Lockheedness!!)
For all those "Twin Tailed" Lockheed savvy types on this board. Any idea as to what type of Lockheed it is? I think I make out windows on the belly. I imagine the the moment being caught on film is that of some senior French miltary or dignitary person arriving or departing.
Any ideas??
