So if I buy a P-40 and take my wife for a ride I can get out of household chores? Sounds like a win-win to me! 8)

great photos - thanks for sharing, I also want to say that you did an excellent job at the warbirds in review at Osh, very genuine words said by you and all of the VWC members there.

Awsome !

I was supposed to be there with the 140 but did not, jet lagged after a business trip...

For a company that just let me go without any forewarnings the very next Monday (this Monday).

Oh well... these are the times... Will get another one and go on...

Eric, it truly was a great day! Once-in-a-lifetime, for me.

Steve, yes, I can guarantee it. If you buy your wife a 2-seat P-40, you can get out of household chores. But you have to let her fly it once in a while.

Kenair, thanks, yes that Warbirds In Review segment at OSH went OK, and I hope I get a tape of it. It was terrific, almost surreal, to land a fighter at OSH and go right in front of a camera, with the back of my flightsuit still wet with sweat.

Paul, no, the witch doesn't count. Witches never count, unless they become your boss, or an ATC controller at your airfield (yeah, I know the joke).

Michel, very sorry you've become a victim of this recession. I hope your job search goes well, and you end up trading UP.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Dave

I hope there is a video or tape of the Oshkosh talk not only Dave's but Rob's and Mike's comments were very timely.
Rob's discription of flying the Spitfire priceless:
"Sometimes they accidentally got it right!"

Dave, great story and pix and I'm with Gary on the great cockpit photo of y'all. The smiles say it all and I think the rest of the guys will agree with me, Robin does look pretty cute in a snoopy.
The Ottawa River at Rockcliffe... I'm glad to finally see a photo of it ...that's the scene of the first of many collision type snafus in the long history of Lone Star's PBY-5A, ex RCAF9742.

blues skies and keep making people smile.
