I thought the city had no interest in flying anything since Mr. McGuire has passed on and deeded the aircraft to them?

He gave the city all those a/c  Holy cr*p!
So when the city budget hits the red zone are the airplanes for sale :?:

No, the city does not own the airplanes. War Eagles is the usual 501C foundation.

Thanks once more and for the clarification   , I thought I had heard some time ago that was the case and that they had no interest what so ever in flying anything period. So the L-5 was roaded into the museum?

The L-5 actually flew the short distance from El Paso International to Santa Teresa, but after arriving at 5T6 it probably won't fly again anytime soon.

Those are great photos and the P-38 story is quite interesting. Do they fly it much? There is a clip of it making a low overhead pass on Youtube, but I'm not sure when it's from. What is the twin engine job on the ramp?

They used to fly them all. until a local lawyer showed up and threatened them.......

as far as the plane on the ramp, then internet can be a great source of information, as can the museums website, I believe it will answer your question.
