This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I couldn't envision myself ever restoring anything more/bigger than a Mustang.

P-51 seems to be a simple airframe.
Wouldn't want to attempt a Corsair.

Just go CRAZY!!!

I'll make a post about it in due time. I'd like to get it a little more complete before I spill the beans just yet. But it's nothing to get too excited about......it's just a little somethin' for me to keep my mind occupied for a little bit. ;-)

Hey now - Don't make my B-17C fly over your house
in 25 years and drop something you'll regret.

:D

I would love to see the Marry Ann from Air Force!! I know, it is a B model, but still would be cool.

Since buying Annie, (PV-2)...I'll have you know that I've been called worse than crazy....and that's just from my wife!
My neighbors keep seeing more and more parts fill my small front yard, and I can only guess at the adjectives they use to describe me....
But the thing is, that I am pretty much to the opinion that just about all of my friends who own warbirds...projects, pieces, flying, or planned,..plus all the good folks here at WIX, are to a degree a little touched....or shall I say "crazy"?
But who could disagree?

No projects on the go at the moment, unless you count classic cars. :(

I want an Avro Shackleton though.... so I think I qualify as crazy.

Now Gary this project wouldn't have anything to do with the Barnstormers ad from a few days ago would it?? :)

I think *most people* would consider restoring the Desert Rat by itself to be crazy... you had to take it one step further

And for the record, I dont think it is crazy, I think it is a great idea! :D

Oh, and as far as I am concerned if we are posting here than we are all a bit nuts. ;)
